Our commitment to protecting adults at risk from abuse and neglect

Policy Statement

VERIDIAN VILLAGE is committed to safeguarding adults at risk of abuse or neglect. We recognise our duty of care and will take all reasonable steps to prevent harm, respond to concerns, and support those affected.
 

This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, contractors, and partners working on behalf of VERIDIAN VILLAGE.

Principles

  • Empowerment – Supporting individuals to make their own decisions and give informed consent.

  • Prevention – Taking action before harm occurs.

  • Proportionality – Responding proportionately to the risk presented.

  • Protection – Supporting and representing those in greatest need.

  • Partnership – Working with local communities and agencies to deliver safeguarding solutions.

  • Accountability – Being transparent in delivering safeguarding practices.

Types of Abuse

We are vigilant to all forms of abuse including but not limited to:

  • • Physical abuse

  • • Emotional/psychological abuse

  • • Financial abuse

  • • Sexual abuse

  • • Neglect and acts of omission

  • • Discriminatory abuse

  • • Domestic abuse

  • • Modern slavery

  • • Self-neglect

  • • Organisational abuse

Reporting Concerns

If you suspect an adult is at risk of abuse or neglect:
 

  • • In immediate danger: Call 999

  • • Report to Redihomes: Email management info@veridianvillage.co.uk or call 0121 647 5347

  • • Local authority: Contact your local adult social care team

All concerns will be taken seriously, recorded, and acted upon promptly.
